The Ministry of Health has launched the 2025 intake of the Health Innovation Pathway Program’s Climate Stream.
In its inaugural year (2024/25), the climate stream supported 11 projects focused on building health sector climate resilience in the areas of Indigenous health, emergency management, public health, clinical care, food services, supply chains and more. In 2025/26, eligibility has been broadened to include the testing and assessment of innovations for health sector climate mitigation, planetary health and/or environmental sustainability, as well as climate preparedness and adaptation. A low-carbon resilience approach is strongly encouraged.
More information on scope and eligibility can be found in the attached PROGRAM GUIDE. Interested applicants are encouraged to consult their health authority’s lead(s) for climate change, sustainability, and/or planetary health to support coordination and alignment with other activities underway in their organization/region (see Appendix A of program guide). To apply, please complete and submit the attached INTAKE FORM to healthinnovation@gov.bc.ca no later than 5:00 p.m. PST on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Please be advised that funding for this program is contingent on the Ministry’s 2025/26 budget to be confirmed in Spring 2025.
Individuals/teams are encouraged to apply and take into consideration how their project aligns with PHC’s 2024-2029 Planetary Health Strategy & associated Workplans.
