Providence in the Park

  • This event has passed.

Hey Everyone! We are planning for a strong Physician support and presence for Providence in the Park –  Saturday Sept 14!

The PHC Mission Team at Oppenheimer Park  will be handing out gently used clothing, blankets, toiletries, healthy snacks and nutritional bagged lunches to Downtown Eastside residents.

Providence in the Park is a really good family activity! I took my daughter and a friend to volunteer – I wanted to show them the patient population I work with. Despite the rain, they loved it. They were quite inspired, and want to go back. – Dr. Natasha Press, Infectious Disease Physician, PHC

Two ways to be involved:

  1. Donations
  2. Volunteer your time – physician volunteers needed!

Types of donations:

  1. Donate Money (we will purchase toiletry kits, hats & gloves, etc.)
  2. Donate items (new socks & underwear, winter clothing/coats/hats/gloves, blankets/sleeping bags, reusable shopping bags, toiletry kits: toothbrush/paste, travel sized soap/shampoo/conditioner, razor – all inside a zip-lock bag)

Two opportunities to donate:

  1. Bring your money $$ to the quarterly MSA Meeting on Monday September 9, 2019 (we’ll take care of the rest!)
  2. Donate after the Meeting: contact Dr. Karen Dallas (Lab Med) or Dr. Julia Raudzus (Psych) directly if you want your donation to be recognized as coming from PHC Medical Staff!

Finally, VOLUNTEER your time to help out at the event itself on Saturday, September 14! Main opportunities are:

  1. Set-up for the event (arrive at Oppenheimer Park approx 9:45am)
  2. Distribution of clothing, kits, lunches
  3. Clean-up crew to wrap up the event (starting approx 1:30pm)

Let’s have a strong Physician presence there! We ARE Providence!
